Special requests

Teens ask. We listen.

Every teen has different needs.

Special requests are the most impactful way we support teens in foster care.

When we speak to caseworkers and teens, they share their experiences: what it's like to struggle in an underfunded system without enough foster homes to go around, and with a nonprofit community that is almost entirely focused on younger kids.

Some had never been asked what they needed or wanted.

By asking the teens what their needs are and where they could use support most, we ensure that the services we provide make the greatest impact on their lives. We don’t assume what’s best for them or operate with a one-size-fits-all approach.

Our teens ask us for what they need, and we do everything that we can to deliver it. We have provided things like tools for an apprenticeship, funds for a drama club trip to New York, a bike, maternity clothes, laptops, and more.

Every teen is unique, and every request is special.

Access to personal transportation is just one of the special requests we fill for our teens.

What our teens need now

Help teens in housing transition get the furniture they need!

We have several teens who are moving into their own apartments as they look towards exiting care, and they need furniture!

Donate today to support them in living independently and transitioning out of care.
